After the untimely death of his mother, a young man leaves his home. He sets out on a journey towards the legendary ‘land where one never dies’ – a long, silent journey through barren, timeless landscapes.
Along the way, he meets three wise men who offer him the illusion of being able to defeat death, but the young man, driven by a deeper desire for truth, rejects each promise until he reaches his destination. Here, time stands still: life is suspended, motionless, as if crystalised in an eternal present. At first, he believes he has found peace, but slowly, eternity
reveals itself to be a prison.
Centuries later, a mysterious call leads him to set out once more to rediscover his roots and the meaning of death, which he had once tried to avoid. On his return, the world has changed, but along a dusty road, he meets a woman dressed in white pushing a cart full of worn-out shoes. Their eyes meet: she recognises him, and in that moment, time begins to flow again.
